Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Monday, November 9, 1964

Mrs. E. C. (Della) Pilchard, 73, longtime Webster City resident, died Sunday evening at her home, 814 Division St. She had been in ill health the past three years. Her death was sudden, being attributed to a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. Paul Heath will officiate and burial will be in Graceland cemetery.

Della Cloe Peck, daughter of Edgar and Mollie Peck, was born Aug. 30, 1891, at Mansfield, Ill., and she was reared and educated at Mansfield.

She was united in marriage Sept. 9, 1909, at Bloomington, Ill., to Ervin C. Pilchard, and the couple came to Iowa shortly after their marriage. They located on a farm at the southwest edge of Webster City which was the family home until 1954.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 12, 1952, by her parents, one sister, Edna Holt.

She is survived by one son, Edgar Pilchard of Webster City, two grandchildren, Robert Pilchard and Linda Sue Pilchard, both of this city, and one great-granddaughter, Tamara Ann Pilchard.

Mrs. Pilchard was a member of the Methodist church.
