Miriam Spannaus, 42, of Webster City, who had been in failing health the past eight months, died Wednesday, July 22 at her home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 25 at 1:30 p.m. at First Congregational UCC Church with the Rev. Ward Malloy officiating. Burial will be in Saratoga Cemetery south of Webster City. Friends may call at Foster Funeral Home after noon on Friday, July 24 until 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25 when the casket will be taken to the church.

Miriam Maxine Dick, daughter of Mervyn Kent Dick and M. Maxine Carlson Dick, was born Aug. 13, 1944 at Webster City. She was educated in the Stanhope schools and attended business school at Omaha, Neb. She was employed with Western Union for two years at New York, N.Y. She later attended nurses school at Carroll, graduated as a licensed practical nurse, and was then employed at St. Paul, Minn.

On Dec. 27, 1975, she married Roland (Rollie) Spannaus at Stanhope. The couple resided at St. Paul, Minn., until 1977, when they moved to Webster City. She was employed at the Hamilton County Public Hospital and later worked in the office of Dr. Lee.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Molly, at home; her parents; one brother, Ramon Dick of Villisca; two sisters, Linda (Mrs. Steve) Ostrem of Stanhope and Jennifer (Mrs. Tom) Allen of Altoona; and eight nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

She was a member of First Congregational UCC Church, where she belonged to the choir and was a church school teacher.
