A.E. Williams, 78, a former Webster City druggist, died suddenly Tuesday evening at the Hamilton County hospital following a heart attack suffered at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church with Rev. Father Edgar Kurt officiating and with burial in the Calvary cemetery. Rosary will be held Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 8 o'clock at the Foster Funeral home.

Arthur Ellis Williams, son of John and Katie Flemming Williams, was born April 29, 1893, at Mt. Etna, Iowa. He was reared and educated in the Bedford, Iowa, community.

He was united in marriage Nov. 18, 1914 to Lenore E. Walsh, and the couple made their home in Creston, Iowa, where he was a druggist from 1913 to 1940. In 1940, he purchased a drug store in Webster City and was in partnership with J.G. House, who retired in 1942. Mr. Williams remained active in the drug business, serving the needs of the community until he retired in 1960. He was joined in business by his son, Darwyn Williams, in 1949.

He is survived by his wife; one son and one daughter, Darwyn Williams and Helen JoAnn Calumet, both of Webster City; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Lloyd P. Williams of Huron, S.D.

He was preceded in death by one son and one daughter, who died in infancy; one grandchild; his parents; five sisters and four brothers.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church.
