Mrs. George (Emma) McCollough, 89, longtime Webster City resident, died Saturday morning at her home at 1140 Water St. She had been in ill health for the past three months.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Michael Shreve officiating. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.
Emma L. Miller, daughter of Peter and Mary Fredrickson Miller, was born April 21, 1889 at Kamrar. She attended the Kamrar and Webster City school and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1915. She then attended Drake University, Columbia University in New York City and the University of Utah at Provo. Following her graduation she taught in Iowa, Arizona, California and the state of Washington.
She was married June 19, 1929 in California to George W. McCollough. The couple made their home in Webster City where Mr. McCollough was associated with McCollough's Inc. for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband April 29, 1974, and had continued to reside in Webster City.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Margaret) Genschmer of Webster City and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Talcott of Tacoma, Wash.; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Albert Miller of Portland, Ore.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son, her parents, two sisters and one brother.
She was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church, the Webster City Women's Club, the Senior Citizen's Club, the Eastern Star and the Town and Country Garden Club.
