DIES AFTER A LONG ILLNESS
Mrs. Geo. W. McCollough Dies at home, 920 Water Street, After Two Years' Illness
BEDFAST 10 MONTHS
Was Member of Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge
Mrs. Geo. McCollough, 40, died last evening at 6:15 o'clock at her home, 920 Water street, after an illness of some two years. During the last nine or ten months she had been bedfast. Everything possible was done in the hope that she could regain her health and last spring she was taken to Rochester, Minn., to the Mayo hospital for treatment.
Funeral services will be held at Foster's, opposite the postoffice, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the pastor of the Methodist church, Rev. Thos. B. Collins, officiating. Burial will be made at Graceland cemetery.
Laura Blanche Hoot was born at Zwingle May 13, 1887. She attended the public schools of Maquoketa, from which she was graduated in 1905. In May, 1911, she moved with her parents to this city, where she had since made her home. In June, 1921, she was married to Mr. McCollough. Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Barbara Jean, Margaret and Richard. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Hoot, of this city, and two sisters and two brothers also mourn her passing. They are: Mrs. Ray S. Grant, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Kenneth Paine, of this city; W.E. Hoot, of Colesburg, and O.K. Hoot, of Webster City.
Mrs. McCollough was a faithful member of the Methodist church, always doing her share of the work when her health permitted. She was a true friend and a kind neighbor. She was also a member of the local Rebekah lodge.
