Edna Foster, 95, Webster City, died Sunday, May 24 at Southfield Care Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Revs. Greg Boyle and Donald Ripley officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is at the Foster Funeral home until time of service.
Edna Marie Stroup, daughter of Irving and Lucie (Larrick) Stroup, was born March 2, 1897 at Holmes where she received her education.
On March 7, 1917, she was married to Gordon A. Foster at Holmes. The couple farmed near Clarion until 1934 when they moved to Webster City. In 1973, they moved to Peoria, Ariz. He died in March of 1982 and she later moved back to Webster City. She had been employed in Webster City at the J.J. Newberry Company and Ostlund's Jack & Jill. She has resided at the Southfield Care Center for the past four years.
She is survived by sons, Gordon, Fort Dodge, John and Verne, both of Webster City; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, Willis; daughter, Lois Evans; one great-grandson; her parents; two brothers and one sister.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, First Baptist Church and was active in church circle work.
