MRS. WHISLER DIES AT HOME
Lifelong Resident of Fremont Township.
Mrs. Frank Whisler, 78, lifelong resident of Fremont township, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at her home, 12 miles north of Webster City.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Foster's funeral home, preceded by brief services at 1:15 at the farm home. The Rev. J.T. Stewart of Webster City and Rev. Wm. Zabilka of Vincent will have charge of the services and burial will be in Graceland cemetery in this city.
Mary Ellen Nottingham, daughter of Josephus and Barbara Nottingham, was born Dec. 25, 1869, in a log house in Fremont township. She was educated and grew to young womanhood in that community and had lived all her life there. After completing her education in Hamilton county schools, she attended state normal school at Cedar Falls and taught school in Hamilton and Wright counties for several years.
She was united in marriage to Frank Whisler at Woolstock Nov. 10, 1897, and the couple observed their golden anniversary last November.
Mrs. Whisler was converted at the age of 16 and joined the Methodist church. She had always lived a consistently Christian life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son who died in infancy.
Survivors include her husband and one son, Carl J. of Woolstock. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Mary Ethel and Cordelia; daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Whisler; two sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Whisler and Nettie Nottingham of this city, and a large number of other relatives and friends.
