RITES MONDAY IN THIS CITY

Mrs. Achenbach Dies at Age of 72 Years

Mrs. Henry Achenbach, 72, died at 11:55 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.M. Rogers, 804 Elm street, following an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church, preceded by a brief service at 1:30 at the Foster funeral home, with the Rev. O.E. Weiss, officiating. Burial will be made in Graceland cemetery.

Martha Regina Rauscher, daughter of Frederick and Katherine Rauscher, was born April 2, 1876, on a farm near Fairfield, Iowa. She spent her girlhood in that community and at Lockridge and later moved with her parents to a farm near Macon, Mo. She was educated and grew to young womanhood in that community.

She was united in marriage to Henry Achenbach, Dec. 4, 1896, and they started housekeeping on a farm near Lockridge, Iowa, later moving into town where Mr. Achenbach operated a general merchandising store. They made their home there for five years and then moved to a farm near Williamsburg, Iowa, later moving to Blue Earth, Minn., where they farmed until 1922. They then moved to Webster City which has been Mrs. Achenbach's home since.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died Feb. 12, 1942, one son, who died in infancy, and also her parents.

Survivors include two sons and three daughters: Dr. C.E. Achenbach of Boone; Harold of Des Moines; Mrs. C.M. (Dorothy) Nuoffer of Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. L.M. (Ada) Rogers of this city and Mrs. Harold (Hilda) MacArthur of Seattle, Wash. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six brothers - C.A. Rauscher of Cedar Rapids, Henry, Mt. Pleasant, Herman of Fairfield, Carl of New London and Earnest and William of Lockridge.

Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, she was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran church of this city. A kind and generous woman, her home, her church, and her family were her main interests in life.
