Robyn Mortenson, 21, died at the University Hospital in Iowa City on Tuesday following a lengthy illness. She had been a patient there since April 3.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bethesda Lutheran church with Rev. Otto Zwanziger, Intern David Greinberg and Chaplain John Lee of the University Hospital officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery at Jewell. Becker's Funeral home has charge of the services.

Robyn Mortenson, daughter of Richard D. and Kathleen Severson Mortenson, was born Aug. 23, 1963 at Des Moines. She had previously lived in Belmond but moved to Jewell when she was in the first grade.

She was graduated from South Hamilton school where she was a cheerleader and was in all musical activities.

In 1980 she toured Europe with the Iowa Youth Choral group. She had taught Bible school at Bethesda Lutheran church.

She was a student at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, and for a number of years had taught swimming and diving at the Jewell municipal pool.

She is survived by her parents, two brothers, Rich and Mike; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Mortenson of Jewell and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Severson of Radcliffe.

She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran church.
