FORMER WILLIAMS WOMAN IS DEAD
Mrs. Bridget Duffy Dies at Masonville

Williams, Iowa --- The body of Mrs. Bridget Duffy, of Masonville, was brought here Saturday. Mrs. Duffy died last Thursday at the home of her brother, O. S. Duffy, near Masonville. She and her husband, Thomas Duffy, who preceded her in death several years ago, settled in Hamilton county near Williams more than half a century ago. Together they labored faithfully, overcoming the many hardships endured on the prairies of Iowa at that time. Mrs. Duffy lived here a number of years until several years ago, when she went to make her home with her brother. She was 90 years old. She passed away peacefully, consoled and fortified by the last rites of the Catholic church of which she was always a faithful member. She leaves to mourn her death four daughters and eight sons, a number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nine brothers and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were held here on Monday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church with Father J. T. O'Meara officiating. The daughters who are left to mourn her are Mrs. Nels Olson of this place, Mrs. Anna Coine of Boone, Mrs. Alice McDonald, Cbicago; Mrs. Kate O'Malley of Lawler. The sons are Charles, Peter and William, of this place; Thomas and Joe of Oldham, S.D.; Ed, of Boone, James of Waterloo, and John, of Duncombe. The relatives and friends who were here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Olson, of Manson, Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Olson, Des Moines; Mrs. Mary Scott, of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Ed McDermott of Rockwell City; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Duffy, of Oldham, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Duffy, of Oldham, S. D.; Mrs. James Coine and sons Ed and Rov, of Boone; Mrs. Alice McDonald, of Chicago, Pat Duffy and daughter Mabel of Fonda; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Duffy, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Duffy, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Duffy, Hugh Duffy and Misses Ethel and Myrtle Duffy, all of Fairbanks; James K. Duffy, of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. John Duffy, of Duncombe; Father Duffy of Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Duffy and family of Boone; Mrs. John Winters of Dubuque; Joseph O'Malley of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Amos Olthoff of Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harris of Alden; George Harris, of Alden; Misses Carrie and Maggie and James McDonald of Duncombe, and Miss Mary Duffy, of Chicago.
