ANOTHER PIONEER CALLED BY DEATH
Thomas Duffy, for 58 Years a Resident of Hamilton County, Dead in Williams

Thomas Duffy, one of the pioneer residents of Hamilton county, died at his home in Williams yesterday afternoon, at the age of ninety - two years. Deceased was born in Ireland in 1811 [1820] and came to the United States with his parents in 1827. The family located in New York and later came to Iowa, first settling in Blackhawk county. In 1855 Thomas Duffy came to Hamilton county and has made his home in this county ever since, residing almost continuously in and near Williams. He was the father of twelve children and by hard work and frugal habits accumulated a competency. Death resulted from the infirmities of old age, the deceased passing away quietly and without much pain. He will be well remembered by the older residents of Webster City, having been a frequent visitor to this city in the early days, but of late years he was not often seen upon our streets.
