Mrs. Huisman, Williams, Dies From Injuries

Mrs. Bernard (Grace Lorene) Huisman, 35, rural Williams, died at 6 a.m. Sunday at the Story City Memorial hospital from injuries she received Wednesday evening in an auto crash.

Mrs. Huisman's death was the third as the result of highway accident in Hamilton county this year.

She was injured when the car in which she was riding, driven by her husband, collided with another vehicle driven by William Shillinglaw, 23, Webster City, at a county road intersection between Williams and Ellsworth Wednesday evening.

Funeral services for Mrs. Huisman will be held Wednesday at 1:30 at the Robbins funeral home at Williams, and at 2 p.m. at the Rose Grove Lutheran church. Burial will be at the Rose Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Huisman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Roe of Williams, was born August 13, 1921 at Rose Grove township where she attended grade school. She was graduated from Ellsworth high school in 1939.

She was married to Bernard Huisman on October 12, 1940 at the Kamrar Presbyterian church.

She is survived by her husband; her parents; three children, Karen, 14; Rodney, 11 and Mark, 7; three brothers, James and Keith of Williams, and Raymond Roe of Webster City; a sister, Elsie Roe of Dows, and her grandfather, Lars Vespestad of Slater.

Mrs. Huisman was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a life member of the Rose Grove Lutheran church.
