Mrs. Ed L. Oard, 45, a longtime resident of Webster City, died early Saturday morning at the Hamilton county hospital. She had been in ill health for the past year and a half.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. S.W. Cunningham officiating. Following the services, the body was taken to Shelbina, Mo., where services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Davis Funeral home with burial being made in the Shelbina cemetery.

Doris Darlene Beckett, daughter of Carl and Mae Mann Beckett, was born July 15, 1924, at Shelbina, Mo. When she was five years old, she moved with her parents to the Blairsburg community. She received her elementary schooling at Blairsburg and was graduated in 1942 from the high school at Shelbina.

She was united in marriage Jan. 30, 1946, to Ed L. Oard, and with the exception of a brief time when they resided at Colorado Springs, Colo., they had always since lived in the Webster City area.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters: Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Hathaway of Muscatine and Karen Oard, at home; one granddaughter, Gabrielle Hathaway; by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Beckett of Shelbina; two brothers, Don Beckett of Mexico, Mo., and Jim Beckett of Columbia, Mo.

Mrs. Oard was a member of Asbury United Methodist church.
