Wesley Wilcox, 90, Webster City, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001 at Crestview Manor. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stanhope Parish, with Pastor Suzie Moore and Rev. Jim Buffington officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Jewell at 1 p.m. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home.

Wesley Dixson Wilcox, son of Orlow and Winifred Dixson Wilcox, was born September 11, 1911 at Ogden. He graduated from Stanhope High School in 1928 and attended Iowa State. From 1933 to 1935, he served with the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Saratoga, an aircraft carrier. On April 25, 1936, he married Hazel Irene Martin at Mount Vernon. The couple farmed in Hamilton and Story Counties. Hazel Wilcox died August 23, 1978. On Sept. 13, 1980, he married Mary Louise Kesler at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City and wintered in California. Mary Wilcox died June 14, 2000. He had resided at Crestview Apartments for over a year and at Crestview Manor since May of this year. He served as a Hamilton County supervisor from 1971 to 1974.

Mr. Wilcox is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Darla Wilcox, Stratford; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jerry Yochum of Delafield, Wis., stepchildren, Ted Kesler, Houston, Texas, Pat Kesler of LeMars, six grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren; a sister Isabelle John of Perryville, Ark.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Joel Yochum, sisters, Josie Conlan, Joyce Farrington, brothers, Russell, Richard, Robert and Orlow Wilcox; step-sons, Joe and Tom Kesler.

His former memberships included Webster City Kiwanis, Stanhope Lions, Hamilton County District Soil Commissioner, Hamilton County Farm Bureau and Stanhope school board.
