F.L. Kesler Dies at 46; Rites Friday

Frederick L. Kesler, 46, lifelong resident of the Webster City community, died Wednesday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital where he had been a patient since Nov. 25. He had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Donald Blanchette officiating and with burial in the Graceland cemetery.

Frederick Layne Kesler, son of Fred G. and Bessie Kesler, was born April 11, 1919, at Webster City. He received his schooling in the Webster City schools and later attended Chillicothe Business college at Chillicothe, Mo.

He was united in marriage Oct. 12, 1941, to Mary Strasser, and shortly after their marriage Mr. Kesler entered the service, serving with the U.S. Army, most of the time in Iran.

Following his discharge from the service, Mr. and Mrs. Kesler started farming south of Webster City, their home since.

He is survived by his wife; three sons and one daughter, Tom, Ted, Joe and Patty Kesler, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Edna Arlene) Stewart of San Bernadino, Calif., and Virginia Kesler, Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Kesler was a member of the Congregational church; the Masonic lodge, the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion.
