Weekly Graphic Herald, Tuesday, March 28, 1893

Henry Biernatzki is dead. Such was the news that shocked and stunned the people of our city Saturday evening, the 18th inst. While all knew that he had been a patient sufferer for a long time, snone were aware that he was in any immediate danger. In the death of Henry Biernatzki Hamilton county loses one of its best and most honorable young men. To know him was to respect him, to know him intimately was to admire his large common sense, his sterling worth, his manly character, his true nobleness. He was one of those that attended strictly to his own business. Naturally of a retiring disposition, yet when one became acquainted with him he realized the fact that this was one man in a thousand. He was a lover of nature, of the beautiful in nature. For a drive in the country he was always ready; a most charming companion and one that enjoyed it thoroughly. He noticed closely the fields, the streams, the woods, the dumb animals, all that was beautiful. He was pure in thought and enjoyed everything pure. No vulgarity ever escaped his lips. Here in this city he was reared, here he grew to manhood and here he has died, and not one man or woman or child in all that vast throng that followed his remains to their last resting place, but was his friend. What better, grander, nobler tribute can be paid to him. He leaves a memory fresh with good and true and noble deeds. Better than wealth, better than a great name attained by questionable methods, he leaves a memory that will grow brighter with advancing years, and everyone that knew him felt that the world was better for his having lived. He was 35 years old at the time of his death and leaves a father, mother, sister and three brothers to mourn his death.
