Chas. Biernatzki

Last Saturday morning Wm. [?] Biernatzki, Sr., died at his home in this city of heart failure, at the age of 77 years. Mr. Biernatzki was one of the pioneer settlers of Hamilton county, locating here in 1857. He was a man highly respected and loved by all, and no man in the county was more widely known. He leaves an aged wife, three sons and one daughter to mourn his death. The daughter is Mrs. Charles Closz, of this city, two sons, W.J. and Charles, also residing here, and Judge Albert Biernatzki, living at Salem, S.D.

The funeral services were held at St. Peter's Catholic church on Monday, August 11, conducted by Father Dalby. A large crowd was in attendance to pay their last respects to an honorable and worthy neighbor.
