Mrs. Adams dies at 103; rites Tuesday

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Elmwood cemetery in DeWitt, Iowa, for Belle Adams, 103, a longtime Hamilton County resident, who died Sunday afternoon at the Stratford Care Center. Mrs. Adams was one of the eldest residents in Hamilton county. She had been a resident there for the past seven years.

Belle Roup, daughter of William and Mary Potter Roup, was born Nov. 19, 1881 at Iowa City. She received her education at Iowa City and in Nebraska.

She was married Nov. 19, 1900 to William Ogden in Salina, Kan., and the couple resided in Webster City. She was preceded in death by Mr. Ogden in May, 1931.

In May, 1937, she was married to William Adams and the couple resided in Webster City. He preceded her in death in March 1954.

Prior to living at the Stratford Care Center, she resided for 10 years at Crestview Manor in Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and one sister.
