Services were held Wednesday, May 12, 1976, for New Albin native Mrs. Morris (Louise) Westervelt, 65, of Webster City, Iowa.

Mrs. Westervelt died Sunday, May 9, in a Webster City hospital.

Rev. Alva Hohl officiated at the funeral, and burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City.

The former Louise Weymiller was born Aug. 10, 1910, at New Albin to August and Hedwig (Bettin) Weymiller.

She was raised in New Albin and attended business college in Cedar Rapids.

She was married Jan. 21, 1940, to Morris Westervelt. The couple operated a shore store in Webster City for many years.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Linda) Latella of Webster City; three brothers, Carl Weymiller of Billings, Mont., Edward Weymiller of Eitzen, Minn., and Emil Weymiller of New Albin; one sister, Mrs. Earl (Emma) Reiser of New Albin; and three granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by a sister who died in infancy.

Daily Freeman Journal, Monday, May 10, 1976

Mrs. Morris (Louise) Westervelt, 65, longtime resident of this community, died Sunday morning at the Hamilton County hospital where she had been a patient the past week. She had been in ill health the past three years.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Alva Hohl officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Louise Weymiller, daughter of August and Hedwig Battein Weymiller, was born Aug. 10, 1910 at New Albin, Iowa. She was reared and educated in that community. She later attended business college at Cedar Rapids.

She was married Jan. 21, 1940 to Morris Westervelt, and the couple had always resided in Webster City where Mr. Westervelt has operated a shoe store for many years.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Linda) Latella of this city; three grandchildren, Laura Beth, Stephanie Marie and Christina Louise Latella; three brothers and one sister, Carl Weymiller of Billings, Mont., Edward Weymiller of Eltzen, Minn., Mrs. Earl (Emma) Reiser of New Albin and Emil Weymiller of New Albin, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister who died in infancy.

She was a member of the First Congregational, UCC church in Webster City.
