Mrs. T.O. (Ruth) Manion, 76, a longtime Blairsburg resident, died suddenly this morning at the Hamilton County hospital. She had been in ill health the past six years.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. John Nolin officiating and with burial in the Blairsburg cemetery.

Ruth Etta Stout, daughter of James D. and Virginia Brooks Stout, was born Jan. 24, 1895 at Gallatin, Mo., where she was reared and educated.

She was united in marriage May 21, 1910 to Thomas O. Manion, and the couple made their home in Cuba, Mo., for two years. In 1912, they moved to Blairsburg where she operated a cafe and was later employed as a secretary at the Blairsburg schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jan. 28, 1954, and she continued to make her home in Blairsburg until the past six years during which time she resided near Webster City with her daughter, Mrs. Ray Hemmen.

She is survived by two daughters and one son: Mrs. John (Dorothy) Gargano of Jacksonville, Ill., and Mrs. Ray (Virginia) Hemmen of Webster City; Tom Manion, Denver, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother, Clarence Stout, Mrs. Elsie Lynch and Mrs. Roy (Mildred) Nichols, all of Gallantin, Mo., Mrs. Jewel Case, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Roy (Cathryn) Galpin of Kansas City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, two sisters and one brother.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Congregational in Blairsburg and the Rebekah lodge in Blairsburg.
