Mr. Seamands suffered a stroke of paralysis about three years ago from which he never fully recovered. However, he did not take to his bed until last December.

When only a small child, he with his parents moved from Ohio and located in Jackson county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. February 1st, 1872, he was married to Alice E. VanDoran. Hemmen and Ray, of Webster City, and Eugene, now deceased. In 1875 he settled in Hamilton county and has resided near and in Webster City ever since.

His wife preceded him in death in 1902. In 1905 he was married to Mrs. Laura D. Davis, and to this union were born two children, Lenore and Donald.

Mr. Seamands was a man of exemplary habits, honest and upright in all his dealings, painstaking in all his work and a home loving man. He was a true Christian, having united with the Christian church about 20 years ago, and remained steadfast in that faith until his death, and was ready and willing to meet his Saviour. Mr. Seamands is survived by his wife and above named children; also two step-children, Floyd G. Davis, of Jewell, and Mrs. J. B. Hurst, of this city, 10 grandchildren and two brothers, J.H. and J.T., both of this city, besides other near relatives and a host of friends.
