Webster City Freeman, Thursday, July 5, 1945

Miss Lena Welp, 64, life-long resident of the Kamrar community, died early Thursday morning at the hospital where she had been a patient since noon, Wednesday. Death was caused by a heart attack, although she had been in poor health for about a year and a half.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Kamrar Presbyterian church, preceded by a brief service at the family home, five miles northeast of Kamrar. When she was one year old, the family moved to the present home, northeast of that town. She received her education in the Kamrar public schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents [Enoch and Janna Boomgarden Welp]. Surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Fred A. Welp, Blairsburg; Mrs. Grace Bergman of Ellsworth, Minn.; George and Katie Welp, both at home.

Baptized in the Presbyterian faith, Miss Welp was active in church work and devoted to her religion, believing strongly in her God. She was of a kindly, generous nature and made many friends in the home community. Among these neighbors and in the family circle her loss will be felt greatly.
