Aged Kamrar Resident Dead

Mrs. Oltman Van Langen Dies Tuesday at the Age of 81 Years, From Old Age

FUNERAL IS FRIDAY

Mrs. Oltman Van Langen died at her home here at 5 o'clock Tuesday morning at the age of 81 years, three months and 29 days. She had been in poor health for over a year and death was caused by a general breakdown incident to her old age.

Mrs. Van Langen, whose maiden name was Engelina Holtkamp, was born in Tichelworf, Germany, in 1846 and came to this country in 1869. She was married to Oltman Van Langen at Forreston, Ill., the same year. Before coming to this community, Mr. and Mrs. Van Langen lived in Manhattan, Kansas, and Grundy and Butler counties in Iowa and finally settled on a farm near Kamrar in 1885.

She is survived by nine children, Thomas, Benjamin, John, Henry, Lewis, Oltman, Jr., Mrs. Henry Olthoff, Mrs. Kaos Hemmen and Mrs. Herman Greenfield, all of this community.

Her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Cornelius Naber, preceded her in death. Mrs. Van Langen had 58 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of the German Presbyterian church.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the German Presbyterian church with the Rev. H. N. Gerdes in charge. Burial will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery.
