Daily Freeman Journal, Wednesday, February 24, 1993

Elwin "Louie" Tempel, 61, Blairsburg, died Feb. 22, 1993 at Hamilton County Public Hospital. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church east of Kamrar with the Rev. Robert Roof officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Elwin Lewis Tempel, son of Lewis and Vera (Bauer) Tempel, was born March 27, 1931 at Blairsburg. He received his education in Kamrar, graduating in 1948. He had been employed at Morton Frozen Foods and V and N Trucking, both of Webster City, Lawson Trucking in Iowa Falls and Mid-State Trucking of Marshalltown and Des Moines. Most currently, he was the owner-operator of Sunshine Welding. He was also a mechanic.

He is survived by daughters, Laura Tempel Kurtz of Webster City, Patricia Fuchs of Rockford, Ill., Veronica Dutton and Lu Ann Tempel, both of Marshalltown, Mary Lou Miltonburger of Middletown, Ohio; sons, Chris of Glenville, Ga. and Andrew of Louisville, Ky., 11 grandchildren; mother, Vera Tempel of Webster City; sister, Lora Sweet Jones of Kamrar; brother, Wayne Tempel of Marshalltown; two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Candice, in 1981; and his father.
