Mrs. John H. (Emma) Tapper, 73, long time Kamrar community resident died Thursday evening at East Lane Manor in Jewell where she had resided the past two months. She had been in ill health for the past two years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church near Kamrar. Rev. Marvin L. Camp will officiate with burial in the Presbyterian cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Monday when it will be taken to the church.

Emma Arnold, daughter of Theodore and Tena Arnold, was born Oct. 25, 1897, in Champagne county, Illinois. When she was a small child she moved with her family to a farm north of Kamrar where she was reared and educated.

She was united in marriage June 11, 1919, to John H. Tapper, and the couple had always farmed in the Kamrar community. She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Claude (Arlene) White of Rangely, Colo.; Mrs. Jay (Margie) McCollough of Eagle Grove; Weldon Tapper of Webster City; Mrs. Mike (Bernece) Frohling of Ottosen, Iowa; and John T. Tapper of Kamrar; 17 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jans (Grace) Tapper of Hampton, Mrs. Elva (Edna) Merriam of Ogden, and Mrs. Arnold (Nellie) Jones of Lake City, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kamrar.
