Melroy H. Luppes, 57, Clovis, Calif., formerly of Webster City, died March 18, 1994 as a result of a car/pedestrian accident at Fresno, Calif. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Community Church of Kamrar with the Rev. Gerald Naber officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery, east of Kamrar. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home in Webster City.
Melroy Harlan Luppes, son of Harme and Hilka (Tapper) Luppes, was born Nov. 13, 1936 at Webster City. He attended rural schools, graduating from Kamrar high school in 1956. He farmed in the Kamrar area from 1956-59 when he entered the U.S. Army where he served until 1962. He was employed as a bank guard in Des Moines for several years before moving to California where he worked at several banks. He also sold real estate. For the past two years, he worked as a cashier at Banc 1 in Fresno.
He is survived by sisters, Erma Studley and Eleanor Bernard, both of Webster City; brother, Raymond Luppes of Kamrar; aunts, Jennie Roberts of Webster City and Etta Sherman of Iowa Falls; 14 nieces and nephews; and 33 great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one brother in infancy.
