Funeral services for Mrs. Verl (Lois) Luppes, 51, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Blairsburg, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral home with Rev. Douglas Anderson officiating and with burial in the Community cemetery [Presbyterian cemetery] at Kamrar.
Mrs. Luppes died Friday morning at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines where she had been a patient the past four weeks.
Lois Elaine Griep, daughter of Levi and Angeline Valez Griep, was born March 13, 1929 in Fort Dodge. She was reared and educated there, graduating in 1947 from Fort Dodge high school.
She was united in marriage May 30, 1960 to Verl J. Luppes, and the couple farmed south of Blairsburg. They moved to Fort Dodge in 1976, where she was preceded in death by her husband, Aug. 14, 1978.
She is survived by two stepdaughters and a step-son, Mrs. Harry (Roxanna) Flannery of Pueblo, Colo., Verl Luppes, Jr., Webster City, and Mrs. Terry (Cheryl) Hill of Denver, Colo.; five stepgrandchildren; four brothers and four sisters, Herbert Griep, Fort Dodge, Arthur Griep, Omaha; Lloyd Griep of Long Beach, Calif., and Darrel Griep of Des Moines; Mrs. Viola Millea, Fort Dodge, Mrs. Irene Card, Des Moines, Mrs. Dorothy Christie, Des Moines and Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) Blair, Fort Dodge, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of the Riverside United Methodist church in Fort Dodge; the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.
