Johnnie K. Luppes, 85, longtime resident of the Kamrar-Jewell area, died Sunday evening at the Hamilton County hospital where he had been a patient the past two weeks.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Church in Kamrar with the Rev. Marvin Camp officiating and with burial in the church cemetery. [Presbyterian church/cemetery]

Prayer services will be held Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Becker Funeral home.

Johnnie Koop Luppes, son of Peter and Jennie Koop Luppes, was born March 25, 1897, at Kamrar and was reared and educated in that community.

He was married to Grace Naber Sept. 23, 1920, at Kamrar and the couple had since farmed in the Kamrar-Jewell area. He had also served as an insurance agent for several years.

Surviving are one son, Lester of Kamrar; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Lorraine) Vaubel of Jewell; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in April, 1979; his parents; one brother; one son, Arvid, and one great-grandson.

He was a member of the Kamrar Community church.
