Henry Greenfield was born Sept. 22, 1852 at Beschatenweg, East Friesland, Germany. When twenty-two years of age he came to the United States and lived in the neighborhood of Forreston, Ill.

In March, 1881, he united in marriage with Miss Minnie Lente. This union was blessed with seven children, of whom two died in infancy.

In the fall of 1881, they moved from Forreston to Hamilton county, Iowa, in the vicinity of Kamrar, where he resided until his death. In the early days of the present month, Mr. Greenfield contracted a severe cold which developed into pneumonia, and he passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, reaching the age of 71 years, three months and eighteen days.

Mr. Greenfield is survived by his wife, his children, Mrs. Fred Welp, of Kamrar, Simon, Eilt, Jennie and Mrs. Henry Johnson, of Ackley, besides one granddaughter, one brother, James, of Kamrar, and many other relatives and friends.

Interment was made Monday, Jan. 14, Rev. H. N. Gerdes officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the Presbyterian church near Kamrar.
