O. R. Denekas, 79, longtime resident of the Blairsburg-Kamrar community, died at 12:35 a.m. today at the Hamilton county hospital. Death was attributed to pneumonia.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Presbyterian church east of Kamrar, preceded by a brief service at 12:45 at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. Harold F. DeVries will officiate and burial will be in Presbyterian cemetery.

Ocko R. Denekas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Denekas, was born May 18, 1877 on a farm near Freeport, Ill. He was reared and educated in Illinois, later moving to the Kamrar vicinity where he engaged in farming.

He was united in marriage April 12, 1899 to Gertie Smid, and Mr. and Mrs. Denekas continued farming in the Kamrar and Blairsburg communities for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his wife who died Oct. 31, 1953, by his parents and two sisters.

Surviving are two sons: Ed Denekas of Kamrar and Robert O. Denekas of Radcliffe; one grandson, Lester Denekas of Kamrar; a great-grandson, Ronnie Denekas; one brother, Harm Denekas of Jewell.

For the past two years Mr. Denekas had made his home with his son Robert of near Radcliffe.
