Evert "Ed" Denekas, 83, died Wednesday, March 16 at the Story City Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, east of Kamrar with Rev. Ken Ribe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 7 p.m. today until 8 a.m. Saturday.
Evert Denekas, son of Occo and Gertie Smid Denekas, was born July 12, 1904 on a farm near Blairsburg. He attended country school.
Mr. Denekas married Ollie Luppes on June 20, 1927 at Webster City. They farmed in the Kamrar area.
Survivors are his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Edna Denekas of Kamrar; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Mr. Denekas was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
