Funeral services for Gene Frank Bowers, 89, will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Dick Ohden home and at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church in Williams. Rev. Robert Ralston of Clarion will officiate with burial in the Presbyterian cemetery at Kamrar. Robbins funeral service in charge.

Mr. Bowers, died at the farm home of his daughter, Mrs. Dick Ohden, 4 miles southeast of Williams Friday afternoon. Mr. Bowers had been in failing health the past several months and became seriously ill about 11 weeks ago.

Gene Frank Bowers, son of Charles and Anna Bowers, was born Oct. 7, 1863 on a farm near Riceville, Iowa. He grew to manhood in that community and attended the Riceville schools.

He was married to Mary Elinor Lappin, Sept. 8, 1897, and to this union was born one daughter, Mary. Mr. and Mrs. Bowers resided in the Riceville community until 1930 at which time they moved to Hamilton county and made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Ohden.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Ohden, two brothers, Don, of Eagle Bend, Minn., and Charles of Clarissa, Minn., two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
