Mrs. Mary Elinor Bowers, 88, longtime Williams resident, died Thursday afternoon at,the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dick Ohden, living four miles southeast of Williams.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 at the Ohden home and 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church, in Williams. The Rev. Theodore Paul will officiate with burial in the Presbyterian cemetery at Kamrar. Robbins Funeral home in charge.

The former, Mary Lappin, was born March 7, 1862, at Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lappin, she was one of a family of eight children and lived in Ohio until she was seven years old, when she moved with her parents to Howard county, Iowa.

Sept. 8, 1897, she was united in marriage to Gene F. Bowers at Riceville, Iowa. To this union, one child was born.

Mrs. Bowers is survived by her husband and the one daughter. Two sisters, Mrs. Rose Wolcott Of
Rockford, I11. and Mrs. Josephine Warsaw of Kingston, Pa., and one brother, Marvin Lappin; of Long Beach, Calif., also survive.

Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
