Funeral services for Mrs. Alex (Engeline) Barth, 77, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Craig A. Bex officiating and with burial in the Presbyterian church cemetery near Kamrar.

Mrs. Barth died Wednesday evening at the Mary Greeley Medical Center at Ames where she had been a patient the past seven days and in ill health for two months.

Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home from 7 p.m. Wednesday until time of services on Saturday.

Engeline Franken, daughter of Behrand and Hillena Gerdes Franken, was born Aug. 17, 1907 at Ostfriesland, Germany. She was educated at Ostfriesland, and moved to the U.S. with her family in 1924, with the family settling in the Kamrar area.

She was employed in the home of Dr. and Mrs. McCauliff in Webster City.

She was married to Alex J. Barth March 21, 1928, at Dike, Iowa, and the couple farmed in the Kamrar area until 1980, moving to Webster City.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. George (Elinor) Brown of Webster City; one grandson, Tim Mortenson, Kamrar; one great-grandson, T.J. Mortenson, Jr.; one brother, Nanne Franken of Allison, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Fritz (Alice) Albers of Wellsburg and Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Visser of Ripon, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Katharine, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Grace) Ehmen and Mrs. Dick (Johanna) Christians.

She was a member of the Community church of Kamrar and the Esther-Martha circle of the church.
