Emil S. Weise, 77, longtime Jewell area farmer, died early Wednesday morning at his home in Jewell.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Webster City with Don Basye officiating and with burial in Evergreen cemetery at Jewell.

Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home until 8 a.m. Saturday, at which time the casket will be taken to the church.

Emil Simon Weise, son of Adolph and Emille Gathman Weise, was born April 9, 1905 at Jersey City, N.J. At the age of 8, he moved with his parents to a farm near Audubon, Iowa, later living at Wausau, Wis., and Tilden, Neb. He worked for a short time in Chicago and Minneapolis.

He was married at Minneapolis to Lydia Block.

In 1936, the couple moved to Jewell, where they farmed for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife April 10, 1971, and continued to farm. On Oct. 5, 1978, he was married to Leta Honn Amundson and the couple retired and moved into Jewell.

He is survived by his wife; one son and one daughter, William L. Weise of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Charles (Jeane) Roberts of Oregon; two step-children, Jerry Amundson of Duncombe and Mrs. Dwight (Marylou) Mason of Edmonds, Okla.; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Obed Weise of Charlotte, N.C., Andrew Weise of Knoxville, Iowa, Mrs. Wesley (Claudia) Grubbe of Tilden, Neb., and Mrs. Ray (Elfreida) Campbell of Wausau, Wis.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.
