Funeral services for Howard Edward Danielson, 58, were held Monday afternoon at 3:00, Dec. 14, 1981, at Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth and burial was made in Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth. Howard died suddenly at the Story City Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon at 3:00, Dec. 19, 1981. Homer Danielson, accompanied at the organ by Darrell Klaver, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Lord's Prayer." Pallbearers were Mike Smith, Gerald Twedt, Ralph Thoreson, Donald Hill, Carrol Reisetter and Wallace Iverson. Bob Smith was an honorary pallbearer. Rev. Harvey Sigurdson officiating.

Howard Danielson, son of Mona Metcalf and Old Danielson, was born April 11, 1923, at Ellsworth. He graduated from the Ellsworth high school and has farmed all his adult life in the Ellsworth area. On Feb. 25, 1944, he was married to Zada Anderson at Stanhope.

Howard was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, a former deacon of the church. At the present time he was serving as trustee and treasurer of the church. For 33 years he was scorekeeping at the ballgames, first at Ellsworth and later at South Hamilton schools. He was currently serving on the board of directors of the Ellsworth and Williams Cooperative, on the Ellsworth Cooperative telephone exchange and on the ASCS of Lyon Township.

He is survived by his wife, Zada; one son, Daniel Kent of Des Moines; three daughters, Judith Ann Greve of Ellsworth, Joan Rae Walker of Jewell and Jean Marie Isaacson of Des Moines. Also three brothers, Oswald, Duane and Raymond Danielson, all of Ellsworth, and two sisters, Anna Marie LeMaster of Jewell and Avis Moody of Ames. Also four grandchildren, Dawn Danielson, Bret Greve and Lexi and David Isaacson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Imo Gene Danielson.
