George J. Klaver, 87, a longtime resident of the Kamrar community, died early today at the Hamilton County public hospital where he had been a patient since last Wednesday. He had been in ill health the past year and one half.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian church near Kamrar with the Rev. Marvin L. Camp officiating and with burial in the Presbyterian cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, when the casket will be taken to the church.

George J. Klaver, son of Jerry and Elska Ubben Klaver, was born Sept. 21, 1886 at Kamrar, where he was reared and educated. He was married Aug. 31, 1922 to Anna Welp, and the couple had always made their home in the Kamrar community.

Mr. and Mrs. Klaver were custodians for the Presbyterian church and cemetry for many years, retiring in 1966.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Eugene Klaver of Kamrar and Darrell Klaver, Ellsworth; four grandchildren; three half-brothers and five half-sisters, Joe Grensberg, DeSmet, S.D., Mrs. Fred (Lena) Frerichs, Elmore, Minn., Mrs. John (Patricia) Iblings, Minneapolis, Mrs. Dan (Tillie) Mundhenke, Santa Monica, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Rose) Freesman, Minneapolis, and Mrs. George (Martha) Nogelmeier, Clark, South Dakota; Water Grensberg and George Grensberg, both of Willow Lake, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mrs. Harm Wessels and one half-sister and one half-brother.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian church.
