Stella Hanson, 99, died Sunday, August 14 at the Bethany Manor. She had resided there since 1980.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at Bethany Manor and at 11 a.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. Burial will be in Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth.

Stella Lunning was born May 2, 1889 at Radcliffe. She married Oscar Hill on Oct. 5, 1911. He died on Dec. 23, 1922.

She married Henry Hanson on Dec. 28, 1933. The couple moved to Jewell from Ellsworth in 1934. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Erma Sexton of Ames, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, her husbands and two daughters.
