Blanche June Grove, 91, Jewell, died July 5, 1994 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell with the Rev. Harry Imlay officiating. Burial will be in Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth. Visitation is Friday at Becker Funeral Home in Jewell, with the family present after 7 p.m.

Blanche June Oakes, daughter of Elmer and Margaret (Caruthers) Oakes, was born June 1, 1903 in Streater, Ill. She moved to Ellsworth with her family in 1918. On Feb. 24, 1921, she married Clare Grove in Webster City.

She is survived by her son, Duane Grove of Jewell; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Nelson of Red Bluff, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Merle; brother, Elmer; and sisters, Olive, Margaret, Ann and Elizabeth.

She was a member of the Federated Women's Fellowship, the Rural Workers and the Jewell Garden Club.
