Mrs. Nettie Scott, 94, lifelong resident of Hamilton county and a longtime resident of the Stratford community, died at 12:45 this morning at the Jewell Rest Home where she had been a patient the past month. She had been in failing health for several months.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Robert Karl Miller officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Nettie Viola Duckett, daughter of Jacob and Martha Duckett, was born Aug. 2, 1872, on a farm northwest of Stanhope and was reared and educated in the Stanhope community.

She was united in marriage Nov. 19, 1893, to William L. Scott, and the couple farmed for many years in the Stanhope-Stratford vicinity. Following the death of her husband in 1939, Mrs. Scott had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Davis, near Stratford.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters: Frank Scott, Stratford, Guy Scott, Webster City, Harold Scott, Stratford, Mrs. Ettie Hoffman, Vacaville, Calif., Mrs. Clint (Esther) Pullar of Virginia, Minn., Mrs. Kenneth (Fern) Davis, Stratford; 23 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Duckett of Ponca City, Okla., and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, by her parents, five sisters and a half-brother.

Mrs. Scott was a member of the Christian church at Stanhope.
