Reinder Johnson, 83, longtime resident of the Kamrar community, died Tuesday at the Hamilton County hospital after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Greenfield Memorial Chapel with burial to be in Graceland cemetery.

Reinder Johnson, son of Reinder and Nemelena Johnson, was born May 20, 1887 in East Friesland, Germany. He came to the United States with his parents in November, 1895.

He was married Dec. 23, 1907 to Dena Hassebrock at Kamrar. In 1914, the Johnsons moved to Lakota, Iowa, where they farmed until 1942 when they moved to their present home in the Kamrar community.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife and seven children: Mrs. Etta Pruismann of Jewell; Reinder Johnson, Albert Lea, Minn.; Mrs. Moline Eksman of St. James, Minn.; Mrs. Ivan Eksland of Blue Earth, Minn.; Andrew Johnson of Kamrar; Mrs. Elizabeth Hutchinson of Waterloo and Miss Kathryn Johnson of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Frauka Schenadorf of Lakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers and four sisters.
