JEWELL - Funeral services for George Hassebrock, 76, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran church with the Rev. Norbert Jolivette officiating and with burial in Evergreen cemetery at Jewell. Becker Funeral home had charge of the services.

Mr. Hassebrock died Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at McAllen, Texas, where the family was vacationing.

He was born Dec. 5, 1901 at Kamrar, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hassebrock. He was married March 12, 1925 to Esther Van Langen at the home of the bride's parents in Kamrar. The couple farmed for many years before moving into Jewell in 1966.

He was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran church; a 20-year Lion club member; a member of the Senior Citizens, a former Farm Bureau member, and served on elevator and church boards for many years.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Luther (Pauline) Lund of Jewell; three grandchildren, Sue Lund, Mrs. Lynn (Joyce) Knutson and Timothy Lund, all of Jewell, four sisters, Mrs. Louise Arends and Mrs. Etta Fonken, both of Crestview Manor; Mrs. Jennie Arends of Stanhope and Mrs. Norma Van Langen of Kamrar; two brothers, Theodore Hassebrock of Kamrar and Ralph Hassebrock of Jewell. Also surviving is a foster brother, Henry Junker of Jewell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Henry, Guy, Vernon, Ervin and an infant brother, Ralph, and two sisters, Dena Johnson and Katie Van Langen.
