John F.B. Svenson Jr., 92, of Webster City, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Crestview Senior Living in Webster City.

Graveside services will be (time) on Friday, December 28 at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

John is survived by his son John (Shirley) Svenson, Webster City; two grandchildren, Dana Svenson of Altoona and Alyson (John) Kramer, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and special friend, Lil Gronbach of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his two wives, Eleanore and Jeanne, his parents and three sisters, Leonne Peterson, Yvonne Jorgenson, and Madaline Eckerman.

John Frederick Bernard Svenson Jr., the son of John F.B and Martha (Sarsey) Svenson, was born May 23, 1920 in Webster City. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1941. John served in the U.S Army in the Pacific Theatre, during World War II, from 1941 to 1945. John was united in marriage to Eleanore Doughten and she preceded him in death in 1959. On August 13, 1960, John was united in marriage to Jeanne Dakin in Webster City.

John lived in Webster City most of his life and served as a letter carrier for the U.S Postal Service for 30 years before retiring in 1975. During his retirement, he lived in Arizona prior to returning to Webster City in 1995.
