Mrs. John Svenson, Sr., 69, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at her home, 803 Des Moines st. She had been in failing health the past seven years but more seriously ill the past two months.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Thomas Aquinas church. Father Wiehl will officiate with burial in Graceland cemetery. Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home.

Martha Marie Sarcy, daughter of Leon and Marie Madeline Sarcy, was born Feb. 20, 1884, at St. Denis, Paris, France. She was reared and educated in France and was married there Oct. 26, 1909 to John Svenson.

That year the couple came to the United States, locating at Webster City on an acreage on north Des Moines street. Mr. Svenson opened a photograph studio and was prominent in photo work in Webster City for many years until his death August 5, 1945.

She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one son and three daughters: John F. Svenson, Jr. of Webster City; Mrs. Vincent H. (Madeline) Eskerman of Spirit Lake; Mrs. Bill Jorgenson of Webster City and Miss Leonne Svenson of Webster City.

Also surviving are three grandsons: Richard and Joey Eckerman and Bobby Jorgenson; one brother, Maurice Sarcy of St. Denis, Paris.
