Walter C. Bauer, 65, a longtime resident of the Kamrar and Webster City community, died late Thursday afternoon at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames. He had been transferred there two days before from the Hamilton County hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. Arthur A. Oswald officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Monday, when it will be taken to the church.

Walter Charles Bauer, son of Carl A. and Celia Chalfant Bauer, was born Sept. 3, 1907, at Webster City. He was reared and educated in the Kamrar community.

He was united in marriage Feb. 18, 1931, to Tressa Beisner, and the couple farmed for 13 years at Boyd, Minn. They then returned to the Webster City area where they farmed until December, 1971, when they moved to their present home at 820 Webster St.

He is survived by his wife and three daughters: Mrs. Donald (Winifred) Isvik, Webster City, Mrs. Lonnie (Erma) Graves of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Leland (Carolyn) Klaver of Williams; seven grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Russell Bauer and Mrs. Vera Tempel, both of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
