Millie Granby, age 87, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa. Funeral services are 2:30 pm Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Community Church in Kamrar. Burial will follow at the Community Church Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.

Mildred Alene Hinkle was born September 1, 1927 in Springfield, Missouri to Henry and Laura (Latimer) Hinkle. She grew up in Missouri. On November 6, 1948 Millie married Earl Granby in Kansas City, Missouri.

Millie lived many years in Jewell. She worked at Collegiate Manufacturing in Ames and was a lab tech at Iowa State University. Millie was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar and the Martha Circle. She loved to go fishing, mushroom hunting and dancing.

Millie is survived by her son, Larry (Darren) Granby of Colorado; three daughters, Deanna Kreutner of Ames, Deb (Mike) Bigelow of Madrid, and Sharon (Alan) Teig of Jewell; six granddaughters; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was the last of her family and was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1991.
