Robert C. Olson, 60, a longtime Webster City businessman, died Saturday morning, Oct. 13, at the Hamilton County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy Miltner and Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation at the Foster Funeral home is until 8 a.m. Tuesday, when the casket will be taken to the church.

Robert Charles Olson, son of Ralph and Gertrude (Euler) Olson, was born July 12, 1930, in Des Moines. He graduated from Mitchellville High School in 1948, and attended Iowa State University in Ames, and Drake University in Des Moines. He was a member of ROTC while in college, and from 1949-1962, was a member of the Iowa National Guard.

He married Ruth Merritt on Nov. 16, 1952, in Des Moines. He was employed by International Harvestor as a zone manager at several locations in Iowa. In 1963, the family moved to Webster City, and Mr. Olson continued working for International Harvestor until 1970. For the past 20 years, he had been employed at Luppes Propane, which later became Ferrellgas. He was currently serving as manager there.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, Webster City; a son, Gregg Olson, Webster City; two daughters, Susan (Mrs. Mike) Asche, Cedar Falls, and Linda (Mrs. Mike) Anderson, Nevada; six grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Ralph and Hazel Olson, Des Moines; and two sisters, Shirley (Mrs. Jim) Geyer, Norwalk, and Marlene (Mrs. Roy) Smith, Outing, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Mr. Olson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on the Church Council, and was a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Morning Kiwanis Club, was a former Cubmaster, served on the Agricultural Committee for the Chamber of Commerce, was a former Elks Lodge member, and was a tractor safety instructor.
