Roberta (Mrs. Raymond) Whiting, 77, Webster City, died this morning, Tuesday, March 27, at the Hamilton County Hospital, where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had been in failing health for three years. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 29, at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregational UCC, Rev. Ward Malloy officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation at the Foster Funeral Home will be after 4 p. m. Wednesday, March 28.
Roberta Reola Myers, daughter of Robert and Lydia Gleason Myers, was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Webster City. She graduated from Stuart High School in 1930. She was employed by Northwestern Bell in Spirit Lake, and later moved to Webster City in 1931, continuing to work for Northwestern Bell. She retired from there in the 1940's. She married Raymond Whiting on June 7, 1941, in Omaha. The couple resided in Webster City.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond, Webster City; two nieces and one nephew, Betty Trowbridge; Stuart; Jean Tyler, Marshalltown and James Trowbridge, Redfield.
She was preceded in death by a son Timothy, in 1968; two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Whiting was a member of the Congregational UCC of Webster City.
