W.C. Youth found dead early today

Tim Whiting, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting of Webster City, died suddenly sometime early this morning at the home of friends. Cause of death was not immediately determined.

County Coroner Sam I. Kuramoto, who was called, said a diagnosis is pending and that arrangements have been made for an autopsy to be performed later in the day.

The youth's body was found this morning on the bathroom floor at the Verne Lubbers' home at 836 Walnut street, where Whiting had been spending the night with the Lubbers' son, Phillip.

Phillip Lubbers told authorities he had gone to a bedroom occupied by Whiting to wake him this morning and found he was not there. He then discovered the body in the bathroom and notified authorities.

Police, the sheriff's office and Dr. Kuramoto were notified at 9:43 a.m., and found the youth dead when they arrived at the Lubbers' home. The body was taken to the Foster Funeral home, where funeral arrangements were pending.

Tim Whiting was born June 4, 1948, in Webster City, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting. He was graduated from the Webster City High school in 1966 and attended the Webster City campus of Iowa Central Community college, where he was a sophomore last year.

He was always active in music and dramatic productions throughout high school and college. He played the role of Simon-Peter in "The Robe" presented by the Junior college students last year.

Tim Whiting rites to be on Saturday

Funeral services for Tim Whiting, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Homer E. Doak and the Rev. Donald Blanchette officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

He died suddenly early Wednesday morning while visiting at the Verne Lubbers home.

Timothy Alan Whiting, son of Raymond and Roberta Myers Whiting, was born July 4, 1948, at Webster City and was graduated from Webster City high school in 1966 and attended the Webster City campus of Iowa Central Community college where he completed his sophomore year this spring.

He is survived by his parents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was always active in music and dramatic productions throughout high school and college and had played the role of Simon-Peter in "The Robe," the Junior College play production last year.

He was a member of the Congregational church.

Death due to asphyxiation

Death of Tim Whiting, 20, at the home of friends here Wednesday was attributed to County Coroner Sam I. Kuramoto today to asphyxiation by choking.

An autopsy was performed after the youth's body was found at the Verne Lubbers home where he had been spending the night with the Lubbers' son, Phillip.
