Gerald D. Frye, 43, a veteran of the Korean conflict and a longtime Webster City resident, died suddenly Sunday afternoon following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with Robert Hadaway officiating and with burial in Cass Cemetery.

Gerald Doyle Frye, son of Edward S. and Birdie Dakin Frye, was born Jan. 8, 1927, at Woolstock. He was reared and educated in Wright county, and during the Korean conflict he served with the Armed Forces.

He was united in marriage Feb. 28, 1953, to Charlotte Kepler at Webster City where the couple had made their home. Mr. Frye was engaged in the painting contracting trade in this city.

He is survived by his wife, three sons and one daughter, Daryl, Carol, David and Dayle, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Birdie Frye; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Curtis (Thelma) Weir of Chester, Iowa, Alvin and Lloyd Frye, both of Des Moines, and Mrs. Ivan (Bessie) Wingaard, Eagle Grove.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1954 and by one sister, Mrs. Dean (Beverly June) Luke in 1969.

He attended the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
